Average amount spent by a downtown resident on new clothes each year: $3,202

According to 2008 data provided by the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, each downtown resident spends, on average, more than $3,000 per year on clothing.

Rounding out the Top 3 in the list of “other” (not including food, shelter, and healthcare) expenditures by the average downtown resident are “Household Operations” (at $2,499 per year) and “Tobacco Products and Alcoholic Beverages” (at $2,076 per year).
