City Councillor Geoff Meggs has tossed his hat in the provincial ring, announcing his intention to seek a seat in the legislature as an NDP MLA for Vancouver-Fairview.
The Sun reports on the rosy news that Canada’s job market has come to a grinding halt after two months of gains. The federal unemployment rate now sits at 7.3% - only marginally below B.C.’s unemployment rate of 7.4%. However, what the article doesn’t mention is that the unemployment rate among youth and students is more than double that (at 15% and 16%, respectively).
