Curling Rocks!

Cheryl Bernard waving to an overly-enthusiastic Canadian Crowd

I’m not exactly what you’d call a ‘curling fan’, but I went to see the Canadian women play Switzerland this afternoon, and I must say, it was pretty wild. Down to the last rock, Cheryl Bernard, Canadian skip, delighted an enthusiastic crowd with a thrilling draw onto the button for the big W.

Don’t know what that means? Me neither, but the place went absolutely bananas! — in fact, maybe a bit TOO bananas. Dad says I shouldn’t have been chanting ‘Go Canada Go’ and stomping my feet while she was tossing that last rock.

But what does he know, right guys?

After the game, we stopped by the Vancouver Curling Club next door, which charged an outrageous $1 entry fee. We ate free sandwiches and watched Canada vs. Norway over cheap pints of Granville Island Pale Ale.

Maybe Dad knows something after all…

I wonder if we’ll get any hits from The Dependent business card I pinned above the urinal?

I’m just gonna admit it: I like the Olympics.

Stay frosty!
